The birth of a child is a magical life changing event for both the mother to be and her partner. It is not only a physical triumph, but an emotional and spiritual journey. Women have an innate ability to give birth and have the right to chose what they feel is best for themselves as well as their babies. I feel that education and continuous labor support play a vital role in determining the birth experiences of women.

     My experiences as a mother of three and my training as a Birth Doula and Lamaze Childbirth Educator have provided me with the tools to help my clients determine the birth experience they are seeking as well as provide information that will allow them to make informed decisions regarding care for both mother and baby.  I believe strongly that every couple should have a birth experience that reflects (as closely as possible) their wants and needs and it is my mission to help you achieve it. 

Childbirth Education

 

 

 

 As your Childbirth Educator I will provide you and your partner with information that will help you make informed decisions regarding your labor and the birth of your child. You will learn comfort measures, pain management techniques as well as breathing and relaxation exercises. We will also cover breastfeeding, infant care and postpartum.  

 

Doula

                                                          

  As your Doula I will provide both you and your partner with professional labor assistance. You will be provided with comfort measures, emotional support, educational resources and support during your entire labor and birthing experience. Together we will work to develop your birth wishes. I will encourage you to draw on your own strength while providing your partner with nurturing and encouragement, thus complementing rather than replacing this critical role.
